My Hero Academia fans didn’t expect that a minor character like Fumikage Tokoyami could take down the show’s strongest villain, All For One.
Warning: SPOILERS for My Hero Academia chapter #381The “Symbol of Evil”, the powerful and cunning All for onedescended from an unexpected My Hero Academia school student, Fumikage Tokoyami (aka Tsukuyomi). While Tokoyami is very popular among My Hero Academia fans because of his personality and Dark Shadow’s impressive Quirk, no one expected this minor character to be able to take down the show’s most powerful villain.
Chapter #381 by My Hero Academia focuses on the battlefield in the Gunga Mountains where the Pro Heroes have trapped All For One, hoping to finally get rid of him. The unexpected revival of the villain and the arrival of Himiko Toga, who uses Twice’s Quirk to create an army of clones, seemed to turn the tide in All For One’s favor, but reinforcements from Shiketsu High backfire once again. However, All For One is very powerful and his ability to steal other Quirks means that no hero can get close to him. Just as the villain brags about his superiority, he is surprised by Fumikage’s Dark Shadow, who has grown to a massive size and hits him with the Ultimate Move: Light of Baldur.
Dark Shadow is powerful enough to take down the strongest villain
Tokoyami’s Quirk, Dark Shadow, is very unique, even in his superpowered world My Hero Academia. The boy can manifest a sentient shadow monster from his body, which he can control and manipulate. The strength of Dark Shadow depends on the amount of light in the environment. In bright light, Dark Shadow is weak and small, but also easier to control. In total darkness, he is so powerful that he can take down even the most powerful villains. On this occasion, Tokoyami took advantage of the favorable conditions on the battlefield. A storm cloud covered the sky, while the winds created by Inasa’s tornado extinguished the fire raging in the Gunga forest. Finally, Fumikage enlisted the help of Pixie-Bob, who used the earth manipulation Quirk to envelop him and create further darkness.
Thanks to all of this, Dark Shadow becomes so powerful that he can take down All For One, exploiting the unique weakness of his power, which requires him to touch the Quirk user’s body to steal it (and clearly Dark Shadow does not count as part of Fumikage’s body). The most epic thing about this moment, however, is that All For One was gloating and talking about what it’s like to be the embodiment of darkness. Fumikage tells him that darkness comes in different shades and that his own darkness, fueled by his desire to protect his friends, will consume All For One and his evil.
It’s still unclear how much damage Fumikage’s attack has done to All For One, but before he was hit, the villain had the same premonition he had in chapter #356 when Dark Shadow hit All for One (with a much weaker hit). describes it as “an attack I had to avoid at all costs”, implying that he could do a lot of damage All for one has been long and bloody, with an army of heroes giving their all to defeat the Symbol of Evil, but it will be incredibly wholesome and satisfying if the biggest baddie in My Hero Academia he will be effectively defeated by one of the UA students who didn’t get the spotlight he deserved in the series.
