The Boruto manga finally brought a tragic twist that readers have been waiting for, but not without changing Sasuke and his most useful ability yet again.
*SPOILERS FOR BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS MANGA CHAPTER 78*
NarutoThe sequel manga finally gave it a dark twist Boruto foreshadowed by its opening, but not without delivering another letdown Sasuke moment to shine. The Boruto The manga continues to release monthly chapters focusing on the journey of Naruto’s son and his peers, who must fight against other ninjas, androids and aliens to keep their loved ones and the world safe. While the series has turned into something different from that of the readers Naruto Shippuden expectedly, he keeps finding new ways to ignore the abilities and core lessons that the series’ characters, especially Sasuke, have learned.
Readers called the events more recently Boruto The chapters are an insult to Hinata, but that pales in comparison to how badly the series handles Sasuke. In Chapter 78, Kawaki confronts Boruto after he locks Naruto and his wife in a locked prison. He did this in pursuit of his goal of wiping out every trace of Ochutsuki, including the one living inside Boruto. The fight involved Sarada, whom Boruto lost his right eye protecting. Sasuke and Shikamaru then arrive and Kawaki escapes. Aside from his lack of ability to arrive in time to save his daughter and Boruto’s eye, Sasuke’s experience in dealing with hatred also seems absent from the current story.
Sasuke’s wisdom and experience is what Kawaki needs to hear
The Uchiha’s recent past is full of tragedy, fueling his heart with hatred at a very young age. Throughout Naruto, Sasuke’s epic journey sees him achieve his goal of revenge before setting out to murder whoever he needed to in order to create what he believed to be peace. This not-so-subtle journey mirrors Kawaki’s current mission to kill what’s left of the alien ÅŒtsutsuki clan. Besides ignoring the shocking power and exciting genjutsu once at Sasuke’s disposal, the story has missed the main point of Naruto that Sasuke learned at the climax of the series, a lesson that Kawaki desperately needs to learn.
Boruto ignores the lessons Sasuke learned in Naruto’s Climax
After helping to save the world from Madara and Kaguya, Sasuke set out to destroy the current social structure that led to the many Great Ninja Wars. To do this, he was prepared to assassinate every village leader and Jinchuriki that harbored the tailed charka beast to prevent such events from happening again. After one of the best anime fights ever, Naruto finally got through to Sasuke that he wasn’t alone in his grief and that he didn’t have to deal with all the world’s issues alone. This realization had a significant impact on him and seemingly broke a long-standing trend of hatred fueled by the centuries-long war.
The Boruto The series has introduced many new abilities and scientific advances that overshadow the fascinating variety of ninja abilities Naruto row entered. The story made this roughly apparent during the climax of the Kawaki arc, which saw both Naruto and Sasuke lose some of their abilities. Understandably, a series has to downplay past characters if it wants to focus on developing newer characters. However, it is disappointing that the Boruto The series is not just nervousness Sasukehis abilities, but also the insight he gained from the battle that changed his and Naruto’s life. An understanding that is exactly what Kawaki needs at this point in the series.
