Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris map & rewards this week (October 22 – 26)

Published

on

Destiny 2’s pinnacle PVP activity, Trials of Osiris, has finally returned to the Crucible. Here’s everything you need to know about the Trials of Osiris map you’ll be battling across and the rewards that are up for grabs this week (October 22).

Destiny 2’s Season of the Lost is off to a solid start, but there was one big absence for the new content’s first two weeks – Trials of Osiris. Thankfully, it returned in September, and that means you’ll be able to jump into sweaty PvP matches — with a new set of changes.

Although the playlist has struggled with issues like cheaters, account recovery services, and technical issues within the broader Destiny 2 experience, Bungie has rolled out some fresh tweaks this season to improve it.

Here’s a super quick rundown of what you can expect in Season of the Lost:

  • Trials will only be available to players that own the latest annual expansion (Beyond Light)
  • You can keep playing once you’ve accrued three losses and still earn gear (although Trials will only offer its best rewards to Flawless runs)
  • PC players will now notice BattlEye anti-cheat is in effect
  • Perhaps the biggest change is that Trials of Osiris will now offer matchmaking

As Trials of Osiris returns to the Destiny 2 directory for another weekend, we have the run-down on everything you need to know in order to prepare yourself for the competition, including the map you’ll be playing on and all the rewards that are up for grabs.

Here’s everything you need to know before jumping into Trials this week.

Trials of Osiris map this week (October 22 – 26)

We’ll find out the map at 10 AM PDT/6 PM BST on Friday, October 22.

Destiny 2 fan and graphic designer Relikt has put together a series of great callout maps, check out the Bannerfall one below for last week.

Relikt’s maps are key to going flawless.

Trials of Osiris rewards this week (October 22 – 26)

Now that you have the scoop on this week’s Trials of Osiris map, you’ll want to know what loot is in store for those brave enough to enter the playlist.

Rather than the usual 3, 5, 7, and Flawless win thresholds required for rewards, players will no longer earn specific weapon drops. In fact, you’ll now earn Trials Engrams for leveling up your reputation with Saint-14 in the Tower’s Hangar.

  • Reputation Rank 10 – Eye of Sol (Kinetic sniper rifle). Once you’ve reset your reputation, you can earn The Messenger (Kinetic pulse rifle)
  • Reputation Rank 16 – Igneous Hammer (Solar hand cannon). Once you’ve reset your reputation, you can earn Sola’s Scar (Solar sword)
  • Flawless run – The Messenger (Adept) (Kinetic pulse rifle)

Once a Trials of Osiris reward has been unlocked, you can re-roll for the cost of a Trials engram – meaning farming rolls has never been easier.

Don’t forget, though, you can get better gear with higher stat rolls through going Flawless. Rank 10 and Rank 16 Trials Reputation will also guarantee weapon drops.

Once the Witch Queen arrives, you’ll need to buy it to take part in Trials of Osiris going forward.

Which Trials of Osiris Passage is right for you?

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Passages explained

With the playlist revamp in Season 15, Trials of Osiris also underwent some changes to its Passages (or Cards). These quest items grant you access to the Trials playlist each weekend, and there are some important changes to note under the new system:

  • Passages no longer track losses
    • Each Passage is either Flawless or not, which allows you to keep playing and earning rewards regardless of how many losses you suffer
    • Players can still reset their Passage after a loss, but are no longer forced to do so after hitting three losses on their card
  • Passages now track up to 20 rounds won
  • All Passages have had their prices significantly reduced
  • Passages are now account-wide, meaning you can play and earn rewards on any of your characters using the same Passage

Make sure you grab the right Passage before hopping into Trials for the weekend.

These changes, and what they mean for you when gearing up for the playlist, can be pretty confusing. Fortunately, we have a breakdown of each Passage, what it does, and which one might be right for you:

  • Passage of Mercy: This Passage forgives one loss per run
    • If your goal is to make it all the way to the Lighthouse, this is the Passage for you. You’ll get one free loss without needing to reset your card and start from scratch
  • Passage of Ferocity: This Passage grants you a bonus win after reaching three wins on your card
    • Usually the next choice behind Mercy for Flawless runs, this will allow you to skip an entire match on your way to the Lighthouse — but, you won’t have the loss forgiveness that comes with Mercy
  • Passage of Wealth: This Passage grants increased Trials Rank points from reaching 3, 5, and 7 match wins
    • If you’re more focused on farming Trials rewards, and aren’t concerned about going Flawless, this is the card for you. With the new Trials reputation system, the Passage of Wealth will bump up your rank with Saint-14 more quickly than any other card
  • Passage of Confidence: This Passage grants a bonus reward from the Flawless chest, but you can only acquire this card after already going Flawless that week
    • If you’re confident about your skills and have a solid fireteam to play with, the Passage of Confidence can help you rack up more rewards at the Lighthouse, but is arguably the most difficult Passage to play

Picking the right Passage for you (and your teammates, if you plan on entering Trials with a pre-made fireteam) will go a long way towards making sure you get the most out of your time in the playlist each weekend.

Trials of Osiris weekly Destiny 2 reset

Trials of Osiris goes live each week on Friday (October 22) at daily reset (10 A.M. PDT / 1 P.M. EDT / 5 P.M. GMT / 7 P.M. CET) and will remain active in the Crucible directory until Destiny 2’s weekly reset on the following Tuesday (October 26).

Before diving into the competition, you’ll need to make a stop at the Tower’s Hangar and talk to Saint-14, the Destiny 2 vendor who oversees Trials. He’ll be your main source of bounties and rewards throughout the week, and the person who provides each of your Trials Passages.

There you have it, that’s everything you need to know about the Trials of Osiris map and rewards for this week. Make sure to jump into the playlist with a couple of your buddies before next week’s reset puts the game mode on its typical hiatus.

Destiny 2 Xur location today: What is Xur selling? (October 22 – 26)

Published

on

It’s a new weekend, which means every Guardian’s favorite shady Destiny 2 vendor is back at a new location. Xur is waiting to sell you a new exotic or two, and even offer up his cipher quest if you’re in need of another weapon from the exotic archive. Here’s where to find Xur’s location on October 22.

Every Friday, Xur returns to Destiny 2 in a new location and offers Guardians a chance to grab an exotic weapon and some new exotic armor rolls in-game, along with his exclusive cipher quest that you need to complete in order to claim an old exotic weapon from the Monument to Lost Lights.

Xur will be back in Destiny 2 this week, and he’s due to set up shop in a different location with a whole new stock on offer to Guardians. In fact, as of Season of the Lost, Xur can now sell a series of Legendary items, too — adding a new dimension to the mysterious vendor.

Destiny 2’s Agent of the Nine is back, selling his goods to Guardians for another weekend.

Where is Xur today in Destiny 2?

We’ll find out where Xur is at 10 AM PDT/6 PM BST on Friday, October 22.

As always though, he’ll always appear in either the Winding Cove (EDZ), Watcher’s Grave (Nessus), or the Tower’s Hangar. Will that change with The Witch Queen? We’ll have to wait and find out. Last week, it was the hangar.

What is Xur selling? Exotic armor and weapon (October 15 – October 19)

We’ll find out what Xur has at 10 AM PDT/6 PM BST on Friday, October 22.

Don’t forget, whatever you grab this weekend can be used in the Festival of the Lost event!

What did Xur sell last week?

Last week, Xur was selling:

  • D.A.R.C.I. exotic sniper rifle
  • Transversive Steps Warlock leg armor
  • St0mp-EE5 Hunter leg armor
  • Synthoceps Titan Gauntlets

D.A.R.C.I. Exotic Sniper Rifle

Destiny 2 Darci Exotic Sniper Rifle
Bungie

Darci is one of Destiny 2’s most unique sniper rifles.

Darci is one of a few select sniper rifles that fall into the power weapon category. Its Personal Assistant perk shows additional enemy information when ADSing, and the Target Acquired trait grants better target acquisition and bonus precision damage while Personal Assistant is active.

Transversive Steps Warlock Leg Armor

Bungie

The Transversive Steps are perfect for high-speed Warlock gameplay.

An extremely popular Warlock exotic (for PVP in particular), the Transversive Steps kick your movement up a notch with their Strange Protractor perk, which increases your sprint speed and reloads your weapon after sprinting for a short time. These are a must-have if you haven’t acquired them already.

St0mp-EE5 Hunter Leg Armor

Destiny 2 Stompees Exotic Hunter Leg Armor
Bungie

The ‘Stompees’ are a top-tier exotic for Hunters.

Arguably the most popular Hunter PVP exotic in Destiny 2, the St0mp-EE5s (affectionately known as the ‘Stompees’) are another must-have armor piece. Their Hydraulic Boosters perk buffs your sprint speed, slide distance, and jump ability, making them an incredibly powerful option.

Synthoceps Titan Gauntlets

Destiny 2 Synthoceps Exotic Titan Gauntlets
Bungie

These gauntlets are one of the top Titan exotics.

The Synthoceps are a great exotic choice for Titans. The armor’s Biotic Enhancements perk increases the range of your melee attacks while buffing your melee and Super damage when surrounded by enemies, making them a great choice for PVE activities.

Xur’s Legendary weapons and armor (October 15 – October 19)

Destiny 2’s Season of the Lost introduced a massive change to Xur’s age-old purpose. Beginning in Season 15, Xur now offers a selection of Legendary weapons and armor each week, alongside his typical exotics.

In addition to an armor set for all classes, the vendor also has several decent weapon rolls on the following guns:

  • Dire Promise hand cannon
  • Seventh Seraph VY-7 SMG
  • Arsenic Bite-4b combat bow
  • Long Shadow sniper rifle
  • Hollow Words fusion rifle
  • Outrageous Fortune grenade launcher
  • Royal Entry rocket launcher

This selection adds a whole new dimension to Xur, and provides a chance to grab some weapons and armor sets you may have missed in past seasons. While unconfirmed, it appears Xur could even end up selling a select offering of Trials weapons, so make sure to check back each week to see what’s on offer.

When does Xur come to Destiny 2? Vendor weekly reset

Xur will move to a new location today in Destiny 2, (October 22) and will remain there until Tuesday, October 26. The Agent of the Nine disappears every Tuesday at reset, and won’t return until next Friday when he’ll show up like clockwork and offer Guardians some new gear — for a price.

While Xur’s choice of weapons and armor pieces rotates each week, he always has an exotic cipher quest available for players to pick up (unless they already have one active in their inventory that needs to be completed).

The exact process for finishing the quest can vary, but it involves completing a number of activities in Destiny 2’s three core playlists: Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit. If you’re desperate for a chance to recover an old weapon from the kiosk, you should grab this and knock it out.

So, there you have it. Everything you need to know about where Xur’s location is in Destiny 2, and what he’s offering this week.

Pokemon Go November 2021 Community Day rumors: Will Shinx or Pachirisu headline?

Published

on

The next Pokemon Go Community Day is expected to take place in November 2021, and Trainers have already got some big theories about who the headliner could be.

Community Days are the biggest event of each month in Pokemon Go, with the spotlight shining on one specific Pokemon for a day full of themed Special Research tasks, bonuses like double XP or Stardust, and exclusive moves to unlock.

Unlike the weekly Spotlight Hours which only last for 60 minutes, Community Days typically give players six hours to make the most of everything there is to enjoy. Even better, they take place on weekends, so most Trainers can get involved.

Niantic hasn’t confirmed who will be appearing in the November 2021 Community Day yet, but there are already plenty of rumors and theories about who it could be! Here’s everything we know so far…

Pokemon Go November Community Day headliner rumors

The Pokemon Company

The Electric-type Shinx could be a Community Day headliner!

The biggest theory for the November 2021 Community Day is that the headliner will be Shinx. Niantic recently teased that Trainers should expect an Electric-type that debuted in the Sinnoh region, so Shinx certainly seems like the most likely candidate.

Based on those teasers, another potential headliner is Pachirisu. This one seems unlikely, though, as Community Day stars are typically Pokemon that are able to evolve, which gives Trainers an incentive to take part and collect as much Candy as possible.

The final potential Electric-type from the Sinnoh region is Rotom. A Community Day would give Niantic the option to introduce all of Rotom’s forms to Pokemon Go, but similar to Pachirisu, it just doesn’t seem as likely as a Shinx Community Day.

Before these teasers were released, one of the biggest theories was that the headliner would be a Kalos region starter: Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie. This isn’t going to happen in November, but it does seem likely that one of them could be a December or January headliner.

Niantic has a history of alternating between starter and non-starter Pokemon in Community Days, a trend they revisited this year with the Unova trio. With Oshawott rounding them out September, the Kalos region starters are expected to follow in the near future.

When is the next Community Day in Pokemon Go?

Pokemon Go Community Day Lineup
Niantic

Community Days always take place once a month.

Niantic have confirmed that the next big Community Day will take place in Pokemon Go on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

It will run from 11am to 5pm local time, so there’s no need to worry about time zones.

How to prepare for the November Community Day

3 Poke Balls from Pokemon Go
Niantic

You’ll need to stock up on Poke Balls ahead of Community Days!

If you’re going to take part in a Community Day, there are a few things you can do to prepare and get the most out of the event:

  • Purchase two Incense to use throughout the day as they will last longer than usual.
  • Save any Lure Modules you have as they will last for three hours during the event.
  • Stock up on lots of Poke Balls so you can catch plenty of the headline Pokemon.
  • Clear out your Pokemon Storage in advance for all the catching you’ll be doing.
  • Purchase a ticket from the Shop to unlock the Community Day’s Special Research.
